The Piezowave 2 device generates high-pressure, focused acoustic shockwaves using piezoelectric emitters. The focused beam can be delivered precisely to a target depth with minimal spread to surrounding tissue.
The shockwaves create a mechanical stimulus that triggers biological responses in tendon, ligament, bone and nerve tissue, this can promote cell growth, protein synthesis, release of growth factors & stimulation of stem cells. The treatment provides an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial effect whilst promoting microcirculation and metabolic activity.
Treatment is non-invasive, ultrasound guided for precision and typically delivered in 1–6 sessions depending on condition and protocol. In our experience it is an excellent treatment modality for managing pain.
